DALLAS, Tx. – On Wednesday afternoon the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) announced their 2021 All-American teams. Georgia Southern's Mason McWhorter and Nick Jones both were honored with first team nominations, after record breaking seasons for the two of them.
McWhorter finished the season with a .372 average at the plate, collecting 52 RBIs and crushing 18 home runs. The senior posted a 1.135 OPS, breaking the career doubles record for Georgia Southern with 67. The senior added three stolen bases and walked 27 times in 2021.
Jones finished the season with the lowest ERA on the team, posting a 1.
