ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Georgia Southern men's golf team shot 8-under in the second round of the Spartan Collegiate, the second-best team score of the tournament, to move up four spots into third after 36 holes at the Sea Island Golf Club Plantation Course Monday.
The Eagles (-5) are a stroke back of Notre Dame (-6) and tournament host Michigan State and three ahead of Northwestern (-2) and Iowa, which are tied for fourth.
Brett Barron carded 70-70=140 (-4) and is tied for second, and Jake Maples posted 73-70=143 (-1) and is tied for 15th.
