STATESBORO, Ga. - Lisa M. Sweany, who has been nationally recognized for her work at Armstrong State University, has been named the deputy athletic director at Georgia Southern University, as announced Friday by the University and athletic director Tom Kleinlein.
At Georgia Southern, Sweany will help with the day-to-day oversight of the athletic department, and will also have sport oversights that will be announced. She will begin her duties July 1.
"In my six years of leadership at Armstrong State, I'm extremely proud of the accomplishments we had both academically and athletically with our student-athletes in preparing them for life after Armstrong State," Sweany said.
