Georgia Southern softball started the game off slow, being behind Detroit Mercy 5-3 when heading into the sixth inning but was able to come back to seal the win against the Titans.
The first to score for the Eagles and grab the lead was Hannah Farrell in the second inning, slugging a double to the gap and making to the home plate off of Mekhia Freeman’s double.
Freeman was also able to add to the score on Haley Carter’s infield single to put the Eagles up 2-0 on the Titans.
Detroit Mercy then answered with four unearned runs off of only two hits in the third inning to gain the lead on the Eagles and force GS to not one but two pitching changes.
