Junior running back Wesley Kennedy III was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll along with two other offensive skill players who double as return specialists, announced Monday.
Kennedy has been back playing for Georgia Southern for two full games now after serving his four-game academic suspension, and he’s been making big plays. In two games alone, the junior has scored three touchdowns and rushed for 169 yards. He is currently leading the Eagles in average yards rushing per game with 84 yards, averaging 5.3 yards per carry.
Kennedy also played a key role in GS’s last win over Coastal Carolina as he scored the winning touchdown in triple OT to seal the victory for the Eagles.
