MOBILE - South Alabama softball edged Georgia Southern, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon in Mobile to collect a series win from the Eagles.
The Jaguars improve to 22-17 overall and 14-4 in the Sun Belt, while Georgia Southern falls to 11-31 and 4-16 in the league. The final game of the series will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
South Alabama took advantage of a first-inning error by the Eagles to plate a pair of runs and take an early 2-0 lead.
Georgia Southern starter Rylee Waldrep (5-13) kept the Jaguar bats in check, taking a no-hitter into the fifth inning.
