WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington collected a 56-46 women's college basketball victory over visiting Georgia Southern on Saturday afternoon in the nation's capitol.
The Eagles (4-1) suffered their first loss of the year, while George Washington (4-2) remained a perfect 4-0 at the Charles E. Smith Center this season with the win.
Georgia Southern hit just 3-of-15 shots from the floor in the first quarter, but still trailed by only three, 13-10, at the end of the period. The Revolutionaries opened up an 18-10 lead by scoring the first five points of the second quarter, but the Eagles closed back to within one before a three by GW's Sara Lewis pushed the home lead back to six, 31-25, at halftime.
