GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Georgia Southern softball squad wrapped up action at the UF Aquafina Invitational on Sunday, falling to top-ranked and host Florida, 8-0, in five innings in Gainesville.
The Eagles (10-4) finished the Aquafina Invitational with a 3-2 mark, while Florida (16-1) went a perfect 6-0 in its own tournament. Georgia Southern returns to action on March 2, traveling to the Lipscomb Purple & Gold Challenge in Nashville, Tenn.
"We're happy with the overall experience we had this weekend in Gainesville," Georgia Southern Head Coach Kim Dean said. "We will use our losses from the tournament to help us prepare for upcoming games and for Sun Belt play.
