NASSAU, Bahamas -- Tookie Brown scored 21 points and had five assists and Georgia Southern beat Pepperdine 88-78 on Saturday night in the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase.
Pepperdine led 46-45 at halftime before Kessler Edwards' jump shot capped a 6-0 run by the Waves to open the second half. Darnell Dunn's bucket with 14:14 left extended the Waves' lead to 63-54. Georgia Southern (3-0) took control with a 16-2 run and led 70-65 with a pair of free throws by Brown and led for the duration.
Ike Smith scored 16 points with six rebounds, Calvin Wishart scored 14, David-Lee Jones Jr.
