COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Georgia Southern women's track and field team performed well at the South Carolina Gamecock Invitational on Saturday, placing several student-athletes among the top finishers at the prestigious meet hosted by the Gamecocks.
Another school record fell for the Eagles in the 1500 meters, and this time two different Georgia Southern runners beat the mark - Merabu Nagwandala ran a time of 4:33.90, which smashed the previous record of 4:36.59, set by Sherrill McFarlane in 2014. Overall, Nagwandala finished third in the meet. Her teammate, Sholonda Snell, also ran a time that bettered the school mark, clocking in at 4:33.
