The Georgia Southern baseball team made it back to Statesboro last night with a win after battling the College of Charleston Cougars and beating them out 8-0.
The season is still young for the Eagles however, this win helped improve their record to 3-4 before going into a big game against the University of Georgia that will be in Statesboro on March 1.
Junior RHP Tyler Owens owned the mound for seven innings in his Division 1 debut. He only threw 81 pitches against the Cougars and secured his first college victory starting for the Eagles.
GS did not score for the first five innings of the game, however when the top of the sixth rolled around bases were loaded and Steven Curry walked for the Eagles to get them on the board.
