STATESBORO - Furman's Ashlyn Goila scored the game's only goal in the 27th minute to lead the visiting Paladins to a 1-0 victory over host Georgia Southern on Sunday afternoon at Bo Pitts Field in Statesboro.
The win halts a four-match losing streak for Furman (2-4), while Georgia Southern falls to 1-3-1 on the season with the loss. The Eagles return to action on Thursday, traveling to Jacksonville to take on North Florida at 7:30 p.m.
The Eagles outshot the Paladins, 10-3, in the first half, but none of Georgia Southern's shots were on target.
