TROY, Ala. – A four-run fourth inning spark lifted Georgia Southern softball (26-16, 10-4 SBC) past the Troy Trojans (27-28, 6-8 SBC), 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at Troy Softball Complex.
Troy got on the board first in the opening frame to take an early 1-0 lead. The Trojans led off the inning with a triple to right field before the Eagles picked up two quick outs but a single back up the middle plated the run.
Georgia Southern responded in the top half of the second to even things up at 1-1. Delanie Thames and Madi Gillespie drew back-to-back singles before advancing up a base on a passed ball for Gracie Bellard to even the score on an RBI sac fly.
