Georgia Southern men's golf came up just short of an outright conference championship on Tuesday as they were bested by Georgia State, 3-2, in the tournament's championship match.

"The course played very tough, but we played some great golf every step of the way," GS coach Carter Collins told gseagles.com.

The Sun Belt Championship was held at the Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida and featured two main portions: stroke play and match play.

In the stroke play portion, the field was open to all teams to get an initial ranking of the teams and individuals.
