Eight Innings from Owens and McWhorter's Power Leads GS Past Troy

TROY, ALA. - Georgia Southern Baseball got three home runs from Mason McWhorter and eight stellar innings from Tyler Owens to win the series finale over Troy, 11-3. Owens' outing was the longest for an Eagle hurler this season. McWhorter's three bomb day was the most for an Eagle batter since Victor Roach stroked three in 2011.

With the win, Georgia Southern returns to the top spot in the East Division, a half-game ahead of Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State. The Eagles lead Troy and South Alabama by a single game with six games remaining in league play.
