STATESBORO - Georgia Southern women's basketball set a new single-game school record for steals in defeating Agnes Scott, 126-35, on Wednesday evening at Hanner Fieldhouse.
The Eagles (5-1) also topped the century mark for the second straight game, keeping the Scotties (0-7) winless on the young season.
Georgia Southern opened the game on a 15-0 run and recorded 24 first-half steals in building a 66-14 lead at halftime. Le'Andrea Gillis' three-pointer with 1:25 left in the third quarter put the Eagles at the century mark, and Georgia Southern's 126 points scored finished as the second-most in a single game in program history, trailing only the 133 points scored against Carver on December 13 of last season.
