STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern baseball improved to 4-5 on the season, defeating Towson 5-1 on Friday. Tyler Owens pitched four innings, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out two. David Johnson earned his second win in relief, pitching two innings of hitless baseball. He added three strikeouts to the Eagles total.
Mason McWhorter finished the day 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Braden Hays picked up his first save of the season, pitching three innings, allowing one hit and striking out four. Jason Swan finished the evening 3-for-4 with a RBI.
