JONESBORO, Ark. - Georgia Southern women's soccer tallied a goal in each half to pick up their first Sun Belt win of the year, downing host Arkansas State by a 2-0 score on Thursday afternoon at the A-State Soccer Complex.
The win for the Eagles (4-6-1, 1-1 SBC) halted a three-match losing streak as well as a four-match slide to the Red Wolves (3-3-2, 0-2 SBC). Georgia Southern returns home to Statesboro on Sunday, hosting Coastal Carolina in a 1 p.m. matchup at Bo Pitts Field.
The Eagles struck quickly, taking the lead just before the five minute mark of the match.
