NEW ORLEANS — Georgia Southern had 243 student-athletes honored by the Sun Belt Conference for their work in the classroom with the yearly release of the Academic Commissioner's List and Honor Roll on Thursday by the league. It's the highest number of honorees for the Eagles since joining the Sun Belt in 2014.
The 243 total student-athletes includes 149 named to the Commissioner's List and 99 to the Honor Roll. In addition, 20 student-athletes earned the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award.
Baseball had largest number of Eagle student-athletes on the SBC Commissioner's List with 19, followed next by women's soccer (18) and swimming & diving (17).
