SAVANNAH, Ga. - The Georgia Southern football team went back to its roots on Saturday, hosting a live scrimmage and kids' clinic at Memorial Stadium as the Eagles continue to ramp up their preparations for the season opener on Sept. 3 against Morgan State.
The "1" offense went right down the field on the opening drive as quarterback Kyle Vantrease went 4-for-4 for 67 yards, capped by a 44-yard pass to Jeremy Singleton, and Jalen White scored on a 1-yard run. That would be all the work for Vantrease as he donned a baseball cap the rest of the way.
