STATESBORO - Georgia Southern women's soccer tallied a pair of goals in each half to successfully open up its 2023 home slate with a 4-1 victory over visiting North Florida on Thursday evening at Eagle Field.
The Eagles moved to 2-1 with the victory, while handing the Ospreys (1-1-1) their first loss of the brief season. Georgia Southern returns to action on Sunday afternoon, traveling to Coral Gables to take on the University of Miami in a 1 p.m. match against Hurricanes.
Fifth-year senior Isabel Kopp got the Eagles started with her first career goal as she took a slotted pass from senior Maya Zovko in the left side of the box and finished inside the far post in the 15th minute for the early 1-0 lead.
