The Cardinals found the back of the net off a penalty kick in the 33rd minute of play, being the only scoring play of the entire game.
While the Eagles were shut out, they came close to scoring in the first 15 minutes of the game as sophomore defender Gonzalo Talavera had a header attempt off a corner kick.
Senior forward Javier Carbonell also had a header attempt in the first minute of the second half and freshman midfielder Samuel Mayer came close to scoring in the 72nd minute while the Eagles had a sequence and sent back-to-back shots at the Cardinal defense.
