ATHENS, Ga. - Georgia Southern opened up its 2022 season on Thursday, falling at the University of Georgia by a 4-0 score in the first meeting between the two teams since 2005.
The Bulldogs (1-0) remain unbeaten all-time against the Eagles (0-1) in six meetings. Georgia Southern returns to action on Sunday, hosting UAB in a 1 p.m. home opener at Eagle Field.
"We got what we wanted out of the match," Georgia Southern Head Women's Soccer Coach Chris Adams said. "We battled and played hard, but we ran into an opponent who capitalizes on your weaknesses.
