CHARLESTON, S.C. - A first-inning two-run home run by host Charleston Southern was all the Bucs needed to collect a weather-shortened 2-0 five-inning collegiate softball victory over visiting Georgia Southern on Wednesday afternoon.
Charleston Southern improves to 16-19 with the win, while Georgia Southern falls to 9-21 with the loss. The Eagles return to Sun Belt play on Friday, hosting Coastal Carolina for the first game of a three-game series. First pitch is 6 p.m. at Eagle Field.
Gracie Prince led off the bottom of the first with a single for the Bucs, then Ashley Meckley hit a two-run home run for the early Charleston Southern lead.
