STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern baseball team overcame a six-run deficit and swept Georgia State with a 10-8 final score on Saturday at J.I. Clements Stadium.
Georgia State (23-13, 10-5 SBC) would plate three runners in the top of the first and second innings each, getting up 6-0 against Georgia Southern (24-11, 11-4 SBC). The Eagles would get two back in the bottom of the third inning, the first run off a passed ball, and the second one off a Noah Ledford RBI-single to score Christian Avant.
The Panthers would score one more in the top of the fourth inning, but the Eagles would continue to claw back with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning, where Jarrett Brown scored on a fielder's choice, and a run in the bottom of the fifth inning, where a Brown RBI-triple scored Noah Searcy.
