TROY, Ala. - Georgia Southern opened up Sun Belt Conference play by playing Troy to a 0-0 draw to earn a point on the road on Sunday afternoon in Troy, Ala.
The Eagles move to 1-2-4 overall and 0-0-1 in the Sun Belt with the draw, while Troy moves to 2-3-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the league. Georgia Southern will return home for the first time in nearly a month on Thursday, hosting Texas State in a 7 p.m. Sun Belt match from Eagle Field.
The match saw very few quality scoring opportunities from both teams, especially in the first half, where the Eagles' lone shot came from redshirt freshman Kyleigh Drew in the 42nd minute.
