STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern baseball improved to 6-5 on Sunday afternoon, sweeping the Towson Tigers Sunday, 6-5 at J.I. Clements Stadium. The Tigers fell to 1-9 on the season.
Jaylen Paden picked up his first victory of his career on Sunday, pitching in relief and working one and a third scoreless innings. The freshman, walked one batter and struck out two. Ben Johnson made his first collegiate start on Sunday, working five innings of six-hit baseball. He walked one batter and struck out a career-high six, before being pegged with the no-decision.
The Eagles opened up the scoring in the bottom of the second, as Jason Swan flied out to right field to score Christian Avant.
