MONROE, La. - Ellie McIntyre's volley in the 17th minute proved to be the difference in Georgia Southern's 1-0 Sun Belt Conference women's soccer victory over host UL Monroe on Thursday evening from Monroe, La.
The Eagles (6-3-5, 5-1-2 SBC) won their fourth straight league match in shutout fashion, while ULM falls to 10-5-2 overall and 2-5-1 in the league. Georgia Southern's fourth straight shutout is the longest such shutout streak for the Eagles since the 2000 season.
The game's only goal came in the 17th minute as a ball from sophomore Smith Cathey found McIntyre just inside the box.
