STATESBORO - Georgia Southern women's soccer scored goals at the front end of each half to collect a 2-1 non-conference victory over visiting Stetson on Friday evening at Eagle Field.
The win improved the Eagles (4-1-1) to 2-0 at home and also was the second time that Georgia Southern picked up a win over Stetson (2-4-1) in this calendar year. The Eagles beat the Hatters, 2-1, in February of 2021 during the 2020-21 season. Georgia Southern returns to action on Sunday, traveling to Macon to take on in-state rival Mercer at 6 p.m.
Georgia Southern got on the board in the fourth minute as Isabel Kopp's shot from outside the box hit the crossbar.
