STATESBORO - Georgia Southern women's basketball blitzed the College of Charleston, 85-65, on Tuesday evening at TD Arena to improve to 6-2 on the season.
In the first meeting between the two SoCon rivals since 2013, the Eagles opened up the game on a 7-0 run covering the first four minutes and led by 16 points, 38-22, at the break.
The College of Charleston was able to get within 10, 40-30, just a minute into the second half but the Eagles answered with a 7-0 run to reassert control in the contest. Georgia Southern held the Cougars to just 29% shooting from the floor (25-of-85) in the contest.
