STATESBORO – Aided by a season-high 48 bench points, Georgia Southern men's basketball (2-1) improved to 2-0 at Hanner Fieldhouse, beating Augusta (0-3) 79-69 on Monday night.
"Credit to [Augusta], they made us uncomfortable a good portion of the night," head coach Charlie Henry said. "There are some things we've got to clean up and get better at. We've just got to get back to work and get ready to play well here this weekend."
Trailing 15-14, the Eagles went on an 11-4 run and never looked back, stretching the lead to seven after Avantae Parker's dunk at 6:49.
