CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina took a Sun Belt Conference series sweep from visiting Georgia Southern with a 5-0 win on Sunday at St. John Stadium in Conway.
The Chanticleers improved to 28-9 and 5-4 SBC with the victory, while Georgia Southern falls to 11-20 overall and 1-8 in the league. The Eagles return home for the first time in two weeks, hosting App State in the first of a three-game Sun Belt series on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Coastal Carolina struck first in the contest, getting a two-run double from Iyanla DeJesus in the bottom of the first inning for a 2-0 lead.
