NEW ORLEANS - Georgia Southern freshman Britton Williams was honored by the Sun Belt Conference Monday afternoon, earning Special Teams Player of the week accolades. It's the first time an Eagle player has been honored this season.
Offensive Player of the Week - Corey Rucker, Arkansas State
Second-year freshman Corey Rucker hauled in 9 receptions for 138 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead Arkansas State to a 40-21 victory over Central Arkansas in its season opener. All three touchdowns, which tied the most in the nation this season and were only one shy tying his own school record, came in the second half to help the Red Wolves overcome a 7-6 halftime deficit.
