STATESBORO – Georgia Southern softball (28-22, 12-9 SBC) returned to the win column with a 6-0 victory over Marshall (28-22, 12-9 SBC) on Sunday afternoon at Beautiful Eagle Field.
Alana Barnard (6-2) was stellar in the circle tossing a complete game shutout, tossing seven innings scattering four hits and picking up a season high seven strikeouts. The seven strikeouts ties her career high. Barnard held the Thundering Herd to just one hit with runners in scoring position.
Georgia Southern jumped out to an early, 1-0, lead in the bottom of the second as Brooke Kell drew an RBI bases loaded walk.
