NEW ORLEANS – Ashlyn Lovett has been named the Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week in a vote by the league's head coaches, the conference announced today.
Lovett averaged 5.89 digs per set, posting 53 total in a 2-0 week for the Eagles. The freshman tallied 26 digs, two assists and an ace in a 3-1 win at ULM and posted 27 digs, one assist and an ace in a 3-2 win at Louisiana. Lovett is averaging 3.63 digs a set for the season and is the first Eagle to win Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honors since teammate Baylor Bumford won in week six of 2019.
