Appalachian State Takes Series Finale Sunday

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern baseball fell to Appalachian State 3-1 in the series finale on Sunday at J.I. Clements Stadium. The Eagles fall to 12-10 on the year and 3-3 in conference play, while the Mountaineers improve to 11-11 and 4-2 in conference play.

The mountaineers jumped out to an early lead in game three, scoring a pair of runs in the top of the third. They would add to it in the sixth, hitting a solo home run to right field to make it 3-0. In the bottom half of the sixth the Eagles would cut into the lead with a sacrifice fly to center field by Austin Thompson.
