Champ Bailey, the former Georgia great recently inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame, was invited to strike the Golden Spike at Atlanta United’s match on Sunday.
Bailey became a first-ballot Hall of Fame cornerback in Canton last week after a historic NFL career that included 12 Pro Bowl selections with the Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos.
The former Bulldog football and track athlete helped take part in Atlanta United’s pre-match festivity’s which include hammering the spike in the supporters section before every match.
Atlanta United would go on to defeat New York City FC by a score of 2-1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, taking all 3 points and moving up to second-place in the MLS Eastern Conference.
