Veteran sportscaster Ernie Johnson Jr., a Georgia alum, has been selected to deliver the commencement address at Georgia’s spring graduation ceremony May 5 at Sanford Stadium.
Johnson has worked at Turner Sports for 27 years after beginning his TV career at WMAZ-TV in Macon, Ga. Johnson, the lead anchor for “Inside The NBA” on TNT, has won three Sports Emmy awards.
“Ernie Johnson is an outstanding alumnus of the University of Georgia, and we are delighted that he is returning to campus to provide the spring undergraduate Commencement address,” school president Jere W. Morehead said in a statement.
