Dustin Johnson is the lone golfer under par headed to the weekend, sitting -4 and four shots ahead of the field. Scott Piercy and Charlie Hoffman sit tied for second at even par. Johnson has been dialed in, but with Shinnecock’s current mercurial layout even a four shot lead seems one disastrous hole from evaporating.
Russell Henley, the co-leader coming into day two, is the top ‘Dawg at +2, tied for ninth with Rickie Fowler.
