ATLANTA | After leading for the first three days, Georgia’s women’s swimming and diving team is pleasantly surprised with its top position heading into tonight’s NCAA championship finals at the McAuley Aquatic Center.
“We’re sort of stunned to be here,” said Georgia coach Jack Bauerle, whose team was not predicted to win the NCAA team title after finishing third at the Southeastern Conference championships.
The teams that were favored to win still are in the running.
