OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. | Junior Maeve McGuire registered a RBI for the third-consecutive game at the Women’s College World Series, but Georgia’s offense never found a rhythm as the Bulldogs (46-19) fell to Louisiana State (52-17), 4-1, on Sunday at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.
Bryan Terry/The Oklahoman Louisiana State's Bianka Bell runs home after hitting a two-run home run in the first inning against Georgia. The Tigers eliminated their Southeastern Conference rivals from the Women's College World Series on Sunday.
The loss ends the season for the Bulldogs after they had become the first 16 seed since 2010 to reach championship competition in Oklahoma City, and 2016 marked the third time that the Bulldogs reached the Women’s College World Series.
