ATLANTA | At the NCAA championships Friday, the University of Georgia men’s swimming and diving team turned in a number of performances that have the Bulldogs in contention for a potential top-five finish at Saturday’s finals.
“We took a pretty good leap today,” UGA coach Jack Bauerle said. “The big thing is the guys will go out thinking we have a chance to be top five. That’s going to change the dynamics for (Saturday).
Defending champion Texas leads the championships with 366 points. California is in second with 271. Florida (255) and N.C. State (197) also are ahead of Georgia, which has 162.
