The Bulldogs managed to get past Winthrop 74-64 thanks to Yante Maten’s career-high 24 points and J.J. Frazier’s first career double-double.

“I was pleased with our defense and then late in the game I was pleased with our rebounding. Offensively we are still growing,” Georgia coach Mark Fox said.

Gaines missed the game due to a knee injury and is day-to-day, according to a Georgia spokesman.
