Georgia and Kirby Smart have signed the first-year football coach’s contract that pays him $3.75 million annually through the end of the 2021 season, according to a document obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald on Friday through an open records request.

Smart had previously signed a memorandum of understanding with the school at the time of his hire on Dec. 6, 2015. Smart, athletic director Greg McGarity and president Jere Morehead have now signed the full contract.
