Georgia Bulldogs graduate assistant Courtney Coard was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper driving and has been suspended from the team by coach Mark Richt. Mark Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald reported Coard’s arrest.
This is Coard’s first season as a defensive grad assistant with the Bulldogs. Previously, he was the defensive line coach at North Carolina A&T for four years. He has been in coaching since 2008 and has also spent time at Grambling and North Carolina Central.
Regarding his arrest, the timing could not be worse.
