UGA football: Terry Godwin discusses touchdown that was taken away in SEC Championship | Columbus Ledger-Enquirer

Fortunately for Georgia, the play did not factor into the final outcome of the SEC Championship.

But tied with Auburn in the second quarter, it sure seemed the touchdown receiver Terry Godwin had taken away might be a big deal later in the game.

With 5:45 left to play in the second quarter, Godwin caught a touchdown to give Georgia the lead. But an official through a late flag on the play and ruled that offensive pass interference was committed on receiver Javon Wims. A replay, however, appeared to show Auburn defensive back Jamel Dean shove Wims into both cornerback Javaris Davis and safety Tray Matthews.
