For the second time in the Kirby Smart era, seven UGA football players were selected in the NFL Draft.
The Bulldogs could have broken the school record of eight players drafted, but defensive end Tyler Clark and safety J.R. Reed surprisingly went undrafted. Reed joined the Jacksonville Jaguars and kicker Rodrigo Blankenship joined the Indianapolis Colts as undrafted free agents. Clark is still available.
Georgia’s draft started early Thursday night when the New York Giants used the No. 4 overall pick on offensive tackle Andrew Thomas. The Giants have the skill players to make a dominant offense and Thomas might be the lineman the Giants need to complete the offense.
