Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart became the bearer of bad news on Tuesday afternoon. The reigning SEC Coach of the Year told reporters at Georgia’s daily football press conference that a contributing defender would be sidelined for four to six weeks.
Tyrique McGhee, a 5-10 187 lb defensive back out of Peach County high school, suffered a foot injury during Saturday’s scrimmage at Sanford Stadium and will likely miss the first few games of the season.
“Eric Stokes I think cramped up a little bit,” Smart said. “Tyrique McGhee had a little foot injury but I don’t know the results of that yet.
