Two Georgia football players have earned SEC Player of the Week honors for their performances against the Florida Gators on Saturday in Jacksonville.
Andrew Thomas, for his job of protecting Jake Fromm and opening holes in the run game, was named the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week.
The SEC website, which hands out the awards, recapped Thomas’ performance:
Thomas played 70 snaps and graded out at 90 percent during the Bulldogs’ 24-17 win over #6 Florida, giving Georgia three straight wins over the Gators.
He had two knockdowns and allowed only one hurry as Florida, who leads the league in sacks, failed to sack Bulldog QB Jake Fromm once.
