Seven players with ties to the Georgia golf program — including current Bulldog Davis Thompson — will be competing this week in the 120th U.S. Open Championship.
The amateur Thompson will be joined by professionals Harris English, Brian Harman, Kevin Kisner, Greyson Sigg, Brendon Todd, and Bubba Watson in the 144-man field at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York.
“This is going to be a great experience,” said Thompson, who will be a junior for the 2020-21 Bulldogs. “It’s a thrill, an honor. It shows that hard work pays off. This is a major and it’s golf’s greatest test, so I’ll see where my game fits and I can build off of that.
